Dementia Level 1

This professionally designed Level 2 course builds on foundational knowledge to equip you with the advanced skills, confidence, and insight needed to support people living with dementia in a more meaningful, person-centred way.

Whether you’re an experienced carer, team leader, or someone working regularly with individuals affected by dementia, this training takes you beyond basic awareness. You’ll explore how dementia affects communication, behaviour, nutrition, personal care, and emotional wellbeing — and learn how to manage challenging situations with calm, respect, and confidence.

You’ll also develop a deeper understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, legal responsibilities (such as the Mental Capacity Act), and how to promote dignity, independence, and safety in daily practice. Real-life case studies, reflection prompts, and practical techniques will help you apply what you learn immediately in your setting.

By the end of this course, you’ll be fully equipped to deliver high-quality, compassionate dementia care that puts the person — not just the condition — at the heart of everything you do.
